Amir is about to emigrate to Italy, where he hopes to start a new life with his partner Tara. Whilst waiting for his visa, he cycles through the streets of Tehran – a personal farewell journey through his hometown and to the people he might be leaving behind.
In conversations with old friends, everything revolves around the question: to go or to stay? Torn between hope, doubt and melancholy, Amir becomes increasingly unsure whether he has made the right decision.
With great tenderness and empathy, Amir Azizi paints a portrait of a young generation in Iran searching for new forms of masculinity, closeness and belonging. Rather than relying on conventional dramatic structure, the film draws on quiet moments, encounters and observations – poetic, humorous and thought-provoking all at once.
Followed by a discussion with filmmaker Amir Azizi.
Admission: €11.50
